MSME / Udyam Registration

Get your small business registered under the MSMED Act, 2006 and unlock a world of benefits

What is MSME / Udyam Registration?

MSME stands for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. The Government of India, under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006, introduced the Udyam Registration portal to provide a simplified, online, and free‑of‑cost registration process for MSMEs. An MSME registration (also called Udyam Registration) is not a statutory license, but it is essential to avail numerous government schemes, subsidies, and benefits, including priority sector lending, lower interest rates on loans, and tax rebates.

The classification is based on investment in plant and machinery or equipment and turnover:

  • Micro: Investment < ₹1 crore and turnover < ₹5 crore.
  • Small: Investment < ₹10 crore and turnover < ₹50 crore.
  • Medium: Investment < ₹50 crore and turnover < ₹250 crore.

Key Benefits

  • Easier access to collateral‑free bank loans under CGTMSE.
  • Subsidy on patent registration and industrial promotion schemes.
  • Exemption under the Direct Tax Laws (presumptive taxation).
  • Protection against delayed payments from buyers.
  • Eligibility for government tenders and priority sector lending.

  • Aadhaar number of the proprietor / partner / director (mandatory).
